Descent to Crystal Falls, Nova Scotia

In album NovaScotiaLandscapes

A field trip last weekend took me to Crystal Falls, which is deeply hidden in the woods, not altogether easy to find. It was my second trip to the falls, my second time to get lost going there. The falls are featured (from my first trip) a little later in this album.

I have had too much studio work lately which has kept me from posting on G+, so I hope this makes up for it.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Fishing For Striped Bass – Early Spring Afternoon

In album Weekly Photo Project 2013

This photograph was made yesterday on a beautiful Spring afternoon walk on the peaceful shore of the Minas Basin close to Starr's Point, Nova Scotia. As we were walking back we met another fisherman making his way to the shore who announced: 'The striped bass will be biting soon. Hope it's today.'

Strawberry Beaches Forever II

Strawberry Beaches Forever II Steven Kennard 2012
Strawberry Beaches Forever II Steven Kennard 2012

After lunch we came back to the beach as the sky had become more interesting. So here is another shot of the same beach. There must have been a line of 1/2 km or more, 18″ wide or so, of strawberries. And that’s just the amount of beach that I could see.

Strawberry Beaches Forever

The streets of Nova Scotia aren’t exactly paved with gold, but our beaches are flooded with strawberries… at least they were today! Strawberries as far as the eye could see. No kidding. Wherever did they come from?
