Fishing For Striped Bass – Early Spring Afternoon

This photograph was made yesterday on a beautiful Spring afternoon walk on the peaceful shore of the Minas Basin close to Starr's Point, Nova Scotia. As we were walking back we met another fisherman making his way to the shore who announced: 'The striped bass will be biting soon. Hope it's today.'

The Thoughts of a Craftsman

We are a dying breed. This interview with +Michael Swift (Horologist) and his son +James Swift is an insight into true craftsmanship and the love of it. Even though I am not a horologist I can relate to the comment about "every time I look up it's time to go home".

+Jean-Luc Colombel is an old friend from France (not that old, but you know what I mean!) who makes the most wonderful period reproduction furniture (recently in the Art Nouveau style). This time he has shared a photograph of May flowers.
