In fact the snow began as soon as I took this and got back in the car, a real blizzard, one of the ugliest days of the winter (so far). I don’t know what this crop is, but though I wanted to identify it, the weather was so cold and miserable that I just couldn’t bring myself to go into the field to find out. It’s not Brussels sprouts as I thought at first. Let’ hope Spring is soon coming.
Edit: I now realize that this is a field of kale.
Wonder what it is. We should go back to look now it's a little less harsh weather.
Where was the picture taken
+Linda Jess near Kingsport.
Great capture!
I feel bad for the people with snow, we had 70° days last week
+Dylan Johnson thanks, I feel sorry for us too 😎
I live in the yellow house almost in the middle of this picture. This is Medford, Nova Scotia. The crop you are seeing here is kale. It was a very interesting crop to watch grow from the comfort of my living room. Kale is harvested over and over again, leaving only a few small leaves at the very top each time. Each plant is irrigated too.
At the end of the road, you can find Medford Beach. Nice spot to check out!
+France Gabrielle Breault I'm so glad I got you in my photograph. It was a bitterly cold day and I made this photograph just before a crazy fall of snow before driving back to canning.
