This plane dates from the third quarter of the 1800's most likely, although it is not possible to put a precise date on it. It is a wonderfully engineered tool that has a flexible adjustable sole and can plane concave as well as convex surfaces. It still gets a workout from time to time in my workshop.

Before I read the device's description, it looked to me like a steampunked rocking horse made from old tool parts. The round piece on the upper left being the seat and the half bulbous piece to the right side is the horse head and the curved bottom is the rocking mechanism. Nice B&W +Steven Kennard !
Nice!

Merci beaucoup +Paul Paradis
Really like the lighting on it, its that old but still in use that's amazing
Thanks +Maximilian Laue Many of my tools are old like this plane, they are much more satisfying to use than many modern noisy electric tools and are believe it or not, faster to use as they barely take any time to set up!
Wow, that's a great subject, +Steven Kennard! 🙂
Thanks, Glad you like it +Tisha Craw

This plan is plainly well-used and a thing of beauty in it's own right +Steven Kennard. Good one.

Thanks +Janet Patterson I love the way old things carry the marks of their lives and connect us with the past.
A great tool to possess – and to use!
