I'm not sure what this says about my town, but it might be that the art/sport of Shoe Tossing is alive and well in Canning 'My (current) Home Town'. Personally I believe that they belong to a trainee tightrope walker. For more information on Shoe Tossing, for the curious: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shoe_tossing

Are you saying that these are just a sample among +Steven Kennard? Whatever the message is, it's not a shoe-in, is it? Sorry, couldn't help myself.
I've seen this shoe thing in Espoo, too 🙂
Typically they used to indicate where drugs were sold..
+deus exMachina that's possibly an urban myth.
Go teh cablez!
Charles & Deus – It's an unconfirmed legend: http://www.snopes.com/crime/gangs/sneakers.asp
+L Sli Thank you. Shoes on cables really annoy my sense of calm. 😉
I've seen these all across the US, often just after graduation or completion of summer camp.
Doesn't look as if the training went too well then?
+Janet Patterson – no, these are the only ones I found. But it's a small town. And more of pulling up by the bootstraps (couldn't help myself either!).
I heard that there are some of these in lots of places, +Tiina Niskanen and had heard of them in Finland. 🙂
+deus exMachina – I imagine that if that were the case and if we knew about it, then most likely the police do, too. So …. probably not.
+Charles Strebor – I had originally taken the shot for the cables for you. Then those darn boots photobombed it!
Thanks for that confirmation +L Sli 🙂
Probably graduation here, I think +David Mathre – the school is very close by.
+Joyce Fay – probably a failed attempt (though there was no evidence on the ground below!).
+Steven Kennard Boots just love photobombing…. thank you.
