Lovely set!
Superbe
We have Red squirrels in our area but one hardly sees them. Mostly we have the Black squirrel and the Grey squirrels. I love the Red squirrels so when I do see them, it's a real surprise.
Thank you +Dorota Dylka
Merci beaucoup +Paul Paradis
I remember seeing those huge black squirrels when I was in Toronto. We don't have any of them here in Nova Scotia although I have seen a few huge grey ones in the last couple of years. The little red ones are the most common here. Thanks for visiting and have a good day +Anneke Dubash
I love them too +Anneke Dubash – we have mostly the reds here but recently we had one or maybe two of the greys and then a couple of years ago (pre G+ #squirrelsaturday times we had an invasion of two monster squirrels from Ontario I think. There was one grey and one really dark one and they came in the winter and hung around for a couple of days before moving on. The red squirrels were all dormant at that time I think.
Hi Steve …. Possibly not a diet Mate… Knowing those Nova Scotia squirrels I'd say it's pregnant 🙂
Speaking of squirrels, a squirrel is very pissed off outside. It has been barking away for the last 20 minutes at something, possibly a rival squirrel.
Oh!!! It just stopped!
+Ellie Kennard We have at least one Red squirrel in our co-op which backs onto a creek and wooded area.
The year we first moved to this unit from another I had the Bell guy here to hook us up. He opened one of the two cabinets that had all the hydro, phone and cable hook-ups for our row, which is on the side of my unit, and the both of us just about had heart attacks when a very startled Red squirrel flew out of the cabinet and headed shrieking for the hills.
The little guy had a towering nest made of grass and dryer lint and several wayward socks built between the hydro meter and the wall of the cabinet. We closed the cabinet and hoped there were no babies disturbed.
Imagine my ire when two days later, I saw the mother of a neighbour in another row (who didn't even live in the co-op), cigarette clenched in her teeth, disposing of the nest in the gutter. Quite apart from it being none of her business to dispose of nests (or anything else in the co-op being her business), destroying the nest without regard for baby squirrels is illegal. Luckily, there were no babies in the nest. But because she disturbed the nest, the squirrel was going to have to seek out another nest and could invade an attic where it posed more of a problem than it originally did.
Now the mother LIVES in the co-op and drives everyone nuts with her nose-poking.
+Steven Kennard When I lived in New York City I was stunned at the size of the squirrels in Manhattan! They were the size of housecats! And so many of them! We were in Battery Park one day and there must have been 30 of them in a grassed area, looking like Russian fur hats frolicking about!
What a story +Anneke Dubash – the worst thing (apart from being responsible for many house fires, I fear) that happens with squirrels is when they go into vehicles and make nests inside them. When the car goes short distances it's no big deal perhaps but when it heats up it is not fun and Steven's parents had a squirrel wrapped up in the brake linings of their truck, I believe. Can't have been pleasant for it.
I'm sure you are right +Len Phillips It's that time of year.
Hmmmmm this one looks like she might be pregnant. Keep a look out you might be blessed with some young ones. Thank you for sharing this wonderful picture. Happy #squirrelsaturday
Thanks +Skippy Sheeskin – I suspect that you might be right. I will be keeping a lens out for them. And Happy #squirrelsaturday to you too!
Salut Steve et Elie.
Je pense que ça marche!
C'est beau la technologie. A+ JLC

The little fella's got his eye on you +Steven Kennard …and you on him. Perfect collaboration.
