I'm really looking forward to teaching a class in turned and sculpted boxes at the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship in Rockport, Maine, September 7-11 this year. It's my third time back and I always enjoy it. It's a beautiful part of the country and the school has just built a brand new woodturning studio (for me?). It's beautifully equiped with lots of Oneway lathes. It's a dream environment, a 'must go to' destination to come and learn about makng beautiful boxes. It's a lovely time of the year, too.
Still a few places left, so check it out here:

+Steven Kennard, I lived just twenty miles or so up the road from Rockport from 1976 to 1978. I was in Searsport, just outside Belfast, and I had quite a few close friends in Rockport and would drive there often to visit them. When I moved up there it was with the intention of staying, but things did not work out as I had hoped, which is how I wound up in Phoenix for such a long time before coming to Ohio. Personally I love it up north, and that part of Maine is just beautiful. It broke my heart to leave.
I'm sure you'll enjoy your time there.
This will be my third time teaching in Rockport +Lynn David Newton.
I can understand why it broke your heart to leave, it's really very beautiful. I always look forward to my visit and +Ellie Kennard loves it there too.
I agree, it's a beautiful part of the country, +Lynn David Newton – my camera gets a good workout there.

You can come +Joyce Fay and it's just as good as it sounds, see you there!
