Maker of the Week – Wish I had Known!

Just found out that I was "Maker of the Week" according to the Woodworkers Institute, 2.5 years ago! Wish I had known at the time. 😀

Thank you Woodworkers Institute!

  1. I love looking at the pictures of your work. In a single piece there's so much to see.

Excuse my naiveté, but does the top of this and others come off, so items such as jewelry or whatever can be stored in it? Or is it intended purely as a display piece? (I'd be afraid that handling it would wear it out or possibly even damage it.)

  2. +Billy Horne – thanks a lot Bill.

+Susanne Stelle – thanks very much, you are right!

Thanks very much, Bill +William McLean – I'm glad you like it.

+Lynn David Newton – thanks so much. Yes, each of these is a box, measuring maximum height of about 6" or 7" but usually around 3-4 inches. The Medusa (collaborative piece) is about 9" high, and the top does lift off to expose a 'box' with the wearable pendant inside.

Handling (with appropriate care) wouldn't harm it and people keep all sorts of small and special things in these boxes. Baby teeth, engagement ring (for the proposal), jewellery, memories, etc… 😀
